On Tuesday, October 27, at 19:00, the Ámbito Cultural hall of El Corte Inglés Pintor Sorolla–Colón (6th floor) will host the Inauguración XXI Club de Lectura con Marta Platel, Premio Fernando Lara 2026. The novel 'El baile de las criadas' will be presented.
About the guest author
Marta Platel holds a degree in Information Sciences from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and has developed much of her long professional career in magazines across different fields. After her beginnings at the newspaper El Día de Catalunya, she was editor‑in‑chief of TodoSport and World Action Sports, coordinated the Spanish edition of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, and worked as writer and coordinator for the interior design magazine Interiores. She is currently head of purchasing at the weekly magazine Lecturas.
El último vuelo de la abeja reina, her fiction debut, was warmly received by readers and critics alike. El baile de las criadas is her second novel.
