El Corte Inglés Málaga hosts on Thursday, 18 June, at 19:00 hours, the first screening of the cycle More Classic Comedy! with the film It Happened One Night, directed by Frank Capra and considered one of the essential titles of 1930s comedy and the first great screwball comedy. The story follows Ellie Andrews, a young heiress who escapes from her father to avoid an unsuitable marriage, and Peter Warne, a reporter looking for a good story. Chance brings them together on a journey filled with wit, clashes and moments that shaped a new way of understanding romantic comedy.

Starring Clark Gable, Claudette Colbert, Walter Connolly and Roscoe Karns, the film made history by winning the five major Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay.

The screening will be presented by Dr. Lourdes Jiménez Fernández, coordinator of the cycle.
