El Corte Inglés Málaga will host the film forum "La justicia social está de cine" on Wednesday 14 at 6:00 p.m., focusing on invisible work, inequality and labour dignity, with a screening of the 2018 film "La camarista", directed by Lila Avilés.

The film stars Gabriela Cartol, Teresita Sánchez, Agustina Quinci and Alán Uribe, and tells the story of Eve, a young chambermaid who works in one of the most luxurious hotels in Mexico City. Her long and demanding working hours prevent her from looking after her son while she is at work, although Eve remains convinced that her situation will improve when she is promoted to a better position.

Following the screening, a discussion will take place with Juan Carlos Álvarez Cortés, Professor of Labour and Social Security Law and member of the Research Institute on "Juventud, mercado de trabajo inclusivo y protección jurídico-social y económica" (JUVUMA); Tania Pérez García, Social Worker at the Ciudad Jardín Social Services Centre; and Pepi Lupiáñez, a retired hotel room attendant.

The event will be presented by María de las Olas Palma García, Professor in the Department of Social Work and Social Services at the University of Málaga.

The film forum is organised by the Cátedra de Inclusión Social of the University of Málaga and the Observatorio Municipal para la Inclusión Social of Málaga City Council.
