Next Thursday, December 4th, at 7:00 PM, Ángela Banzas will present her new novel, "Cuando el viento hable" (When the Wind Speaks), a finalist for the 2025 Planeta Prize, in Santiago de Compostela. The event will take place in the Ámbito Cultural room, located on the ground floor of El Corte Inglés department store in Santiago de Compostela.

Set primarily in Santiago de Compostela—the author's birthplace—this novel immerses us in a profoundly human historical drama, moving between memory, trauma, and hope. Its protagonist, Sofía, born in 1939, guides us with a voice that blends innocence and lucidity through a story marked by family secrets, the post-war period, and the horrors of Franco's medical experiments, all told with a poetic, metaphorical, and deeply human narrative.

With a poetic and captivating narrative, Ángela Banzas denounces institutional violence and the use of the female body as a battleground, while celebrating the power of imagination and love as a refuge.

About the author

Ángela Banzas (Santiago de Compostela, 1982) holds a degree in Political Science and an MBA from the European Business School. She debuted in 2021 with 'El silencio de las olas' and has published other works such as 'La conspiración de la niebla, 'La sombra de la rosa', and 'El aliento de las llamas'. 'Cuando el viento hable' is her fifth novel.
